PTI Make It Mondays

Hey y'all!  I'm a novice Copic user and it will probably be obvious when you see the flower on the card below.  BUT...I'm proud of myself and I'm making progress!  A for effort!  The PTI Make it Monday Challenge is to color with your Copics on colored card stock.  I used PTI's sweet blush card stock and stamped the large carnation onto it from the Year In Flowers Carnation stamp set.  The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.  Here it is:

Soooo, there you have it!  Enjoy your week!

Outlawz Monday Greeting Card Challenge and Mojo Monday #183

The Outlawz Monday Greeting Card Challenge is to do a masculine card "Let's say it for the boys".  So, I thought about an older gentleman sitting in his easy chair reading a book.  It turns out that I have a Repeat Impressions stamp that had the perfect sentiment.  I also used my PTI stamp set "On My Couch".  So, without further adieu...  Oops!  Forgot to mention I used a Mojo Monday Sketch!  It's #183.  Here is the sketch:

Supplies:
Paper:  PTI (Kraft, New Leaf), DP (S.E.I.)
Ink:  PTI (Chai, Dark Chocolate)
Stamp:  Repeat Impressions - Sentiment, Verve Stamps - Leaves, PTI (On My Couch)

Less Is More Challenge #6

Goodbye extra hour of sleep!  Oh, well...daylight savings time is upon us once again!  I live in the West side of Atlanta so, the sunshine slow down in the AM is ridiculous but, with the time change, the sun won't be up until well after I've gotten to work!  YESSSSS!  Moving right along.  This will be my first time playing along with the Less Is More crew.  The challenge was to have a portion of your image off of the edge of your card.  I'm just having fun and enjoying myself and I didn't over think this....so, here it comes...

Have a good evening!  Happy Day Light Savings Time Eve!

Supplies:
Paper:  PTI (White)
Ink:  PTI (Dark Chocolate, Ripe Avacado), SU! (Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight)

Skipping Stones with PTI Make It Mondays

Hi Bloggeritas!  Just getting some craft therapy in here.  I wanted to post a card I made for two challenges.  First is SSD sketch #67.  The second is the Make It Mondays challenge over on Nichole Heady's blog from Papertrey Ink.  The name of the game this week is to create a project using distressed paper.  It was fun for me.

Here are the juices and berries:

I tried to take a close enough photo so that you can see that I distressed the edges of the notebook paper die cut.  But, to no avail.  Trust me the distressing is there...will you take my word for it?  Thanks! :0)
Well, there you have it.  I fun masculine card for two challenges.  Good night Bloggeritas!

Mojo Monday #181 and Totally Hues #3

Good Evening Folks!  What a long day!  It's 10:18pm and I'm pretty sure that every part of my body is exauhsted.  Eh, what are you gonna do?  I'm fortunate to have a job and a family...that's worth the tired feeling at the end of the day.

So, let's get down to the crafting!  I made a card for two challenges.  Mojo Monday sketch #181 and Totally Hues #3.

Before I present the juices and the berries of the challenges I just want to say something that's been on my heart.  I've found that you should only do things (outside of the things that you have to do to sustain yourself and your family) that make you happy.  Don't do it for glory, flash, recognition or anything else but the sheer joy of doing it.  That's how I feel about my cards and other crafts.  I do them because I love it and that makes every card special.  Soooo...the moral of the story is, sing because you love it, dance because you love it, bake because you love it.  Don't worry about what others are doing and how they'll recieve your work...just do it to bring joy to your soul.

That is my Confucious bit for the night...now on to the juices and berries!

Here is my offering...because I LOVE it!

Remember to not worry about winning a challenge or even what other bloggers/crafters will say...make your cards, your LO or your altered project because you love it and it's good for your soul.

Supplies:
Paper:  PTI (Orange Zest, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, In Bloom, Kraft), SEI (Moonrise)
Ink:  PTI (Dark Chocolate)
Doily:  Stash
Ribbon:  Hobby Lobby
Stamp:  Verve Stamps (Hello)

Tellen's Place Embellishment Challenge

Hey y'all!  Happy Monday to you!  I've got a card to share with you.  It's for the Tellen's Place challenge.  The challenge involves you using at least two embellishments.  Since I'm normally not embellishment heavy on my cards I barely squeaked by with the required amount.  There is an embellie in the center of the flower and of course there is a little button business going on too.

Thanks for stopping in!

Supplies:
Paper: PTI (White, Ripe Avacado), HL (Black)
Ink:  Momento (Tuxedo Black), PTI (Fresh Snow)
Embellie:  Hobby Lobby

Embellish Color Trends Challenge

Even though it's been raining here in Atlanta, I had a great day.  The sun was shining in my soul all day today.  My mother-in-love and I hung out with my son (who calls her "Ga"...guess that's supposed to be grandma).  We had fun eating at Cracker Barrel and using our 40% off coupons at Hobby Lobby.  I needed to refill my Glue Arts Glue Glider Gun...I swear by that thing.  They had all the Glue Arts cartridges 30% off!  Also, if you need to build your Nesties library, using the 40% off coupon at HL is the way to do it!

While Picard was taking his AM nap, I came up with a little ditty for the Embellish Color Trends Challenge.  Calling it a ditty is totally applicable because music is one of the required elements.

 Here is my offering:

This card is HUGE!  I don't know what I was thinking!  It came out to be very cute if I do say so myself...and I do! :)  SN:  I work at an architecture firm and the interiors dept. gets rid of fabric samples that they don't need and I'm always willing to take them off of their hands so, I used one on this card...awesome.

Supplies:
Paper:  PTI (Kraft, Raspberry Fizz), DP (Webster's Pages), HL
Ink:  SU! (Crushed Curry), Versamark, Tom Holtz (Worn Lipstick)
Stamps:  Skipping Stones Designs (Heartsong)
Ribbon, Buttons, Fabric:  My stash
Other:  Yellow Bicycle (Die cut)

My Style, My Style

When you do as much blog surfing as me, you're bound to notice certain trends and topics that regularly arise.  Today, I've noticed that quite a few folks are pondering what their scrapping (which we all know I don't do) or stamping style is.  I've never really thought about my style.  I guess I'd have to go with clean and simple with a dimple! :)

I am intimidated by cards with layers and layers.  I can't imagine creating like that.  Don't get me wrong, I love to see a well layered masterpiece but, my brain doesn't work that way.  Could I be layer-a-phobic?

Regardless...I think the true beauty of a project shines through when the artist is just being themselves.

I thought about that when I created the following card.  It is also for the C&S Challenge #130.

Supplies:
Paper:  PTI (Kraft, Ocean Tides, Vellum, Vintage Cream)
Ink:  PTI (Dark Chocolate), SU! (Crumb Cake), Versamark
Twine and Button:  Stash
Stamps:  PTI (Carnation YIF), Verve Stamps (Leaves)

Totally Hues Challenge + Mojo Monday #180

Well HEL-LO Bloggeritas!  You know blogging is addictive.  I haven't made a post since 2/27 and I was itching to get back to TTIMB!  You know what else is addictive?...Papertrey Ink stamps.  I am in LUV with the new stamp set "Button Boutique".  It's so cute and vintage-esque...yes I just created a word...roll with it.

I used my new favorite stamp set to make a card for the new Totally Hues color challenge by Heather over at "Witty Title Here".  I enjoy her blog and her card style.  I paired that challege with the Mojo Monday #180 sketch.  You could use a circle or a square card.  I of course chose the square.

Here are all the juices and berries:

Here is what I came up with:

I'm going to send this card to my boss/fairy god-aunt.  She has been on a leave of absence from work due to cancer.  I miss her and I want her to know that I'm thinking of her.  She would really like this card.

Paper:  PTI (Raspberry Fizz, Dark Chocolate, Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides)

February PTI Blog HOP (and a Clean and Simple Challenge)!

Hey Bloggeritas!  Happy Papertrey Ink blog hop day!!  I'm really excited whenever these hops come around.  There is limitless inspiration to draw from!  So, here are the juices and berries associated with the hop:

"This month we decided to dedicate the Blog Hop to scallops!  We want to see your best use of scallops, of any sort, on a project!  This can include scalloped borders, offset-scallops, stamped scallops,  scalloped mats, scalloped frames, layered scallops, scalloped tags or anything else you can dream up! You can use dies, patterned scissors or even circle punches in a row to achieve your special look. We are looking forward to seeing all of your amazing creations!"

I needed a little help with the scalloped thing and just when I was searching for a sketch, I ran across the Clean and Simple sketch challenge.  So, this is a two-fer.  PTI Blog hop AND a Clean and Simple Sketch challenge.
