Happy Halloween Treat Boxes!

Happy Halloween Bloggeritas!  Are you ready for the costumes and the fun today?  My husband and I dressed up as Ice Cube and Janelle Monae  this weekend to attend a Halloween party but, on the way there, I became so sick!  Needless to say we didn't make it! :(  Our three year old, Picard, is dressed as a Pirate today at school.  His pre-school had a parade this morning and they're having a party this afternoon.  Daddy attended the parade, and I'm going to the party!  Gotta love a bunch of three year olds hopped up on candy and cupcakes! :)

Today, I want to share a project with you that I created using my Silhouette SD.  Yep, some of us still have our antiquated SDs! LOL!

For some reason, I couldn't find my ink blending tool so, after I cut the card box, I used a dab of water and some black ink on a paper towel to create the "smokey" effect on the box.  I used the same technique with purple dye ink on the treat card.  Then, I added a little Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen.

I used my Silhouette SD to cut that cute spider web and the bats too.  Since I need new blades, I have to use 80lb card stock to cut with in my Silhouette.  The only 80lb cardstock I have is white so, I cut my shapes and then used a black Sharpie to color them in.  I colored the front and back to make sure the color was really saturated.

Then, I applied some Silver Stickles to the bats.  Once they dried, I placed an acrylic block on top of them to prevent them from curling while I was compiling the other elements of my project. That purple vintage shape is from a Papertrey Ink Set.  I used the die and the border from the actual set.

I used some old flowers from my stash and dropped some purple Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on them in big droplets. Finally, I sprayed some golden Mist over the whole project to give it a sheen.

The treat cards were so easy to make!  I used my Silhouette to cut some squares with rounded corners.  I made the square within the Card Box shape in the Silhouette Studio software just to make sure it would fit.  Then, I inked it up with some Halloween stamps I got from a Unity Stamp Co. grab bag I won.  I used foam squares (really 3M mounting Tape) to adhere the suckers and cut some banners out of scraps, added a sentiment and placed them over the stick of the sucker to make them secure.  The buttons were adhered using some Helmars crafting glue.

I love the way these treat boxes turned out!  I think I'm going to do some Christmas ones as well!

Here are pics of the Washington men and I!  Happy Halloween!
